62nd Annual Mother Goose Parade
BANDS
The Mother Goose Parade Association welcomes marching and show bands from all over the United States to showcase their musical talents with flair in the Mother Goose Parade.
We are encouraging bands, with the size and composition up to 200 members, to apply for the opportunity to participate in the 2 mile route in the largest parade in San Diego County. The televised Mother Goose Parade will commence at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2008.
Whether a band is a Mother Goose Parade veteran or a newcomer, they all become a part of the Mother Goose Parade history of musical talent and entertainment.
Realizing there is young talent to be seen in musicianship, marching ability, and showmanship, the Mother Goose Parade Association has now created another innovation in accepting bands from junior high schools and middle schools.
Since the Mother Goose Parade Association is transforming into a more entertainment-type parade, we highly encourage all marching units to develop a "performance on wheels", or in this case on "feet". Feel free to add the addition of a dance team and/or baton twirlers/majorettes, not to mention color guard members.
