Always the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
Parade begins at 1 PM.

Blast to the past from 1980! Here's some excerpts of a CBS 8 - San Diego News broadcast of the parade! Recognize anybody?
Montijo Wood Art was an original sponsor/ participant in El Cajon's Mother Goose Parade. They helped design & build the Mother Goose Parade float. It was revitalized with fresh crepe & t issue paper every year. I even got to help sometimes since Uncle Ben & Aunt Mary Lou Montijo (pictured here) kept the float at their home base, eventually a big barn in Johnstown, east of El Cajon.
They operated the float, lying prone in the base. Mary Lou lay on her back, pulling ropes & levers to move the head & body. Ben was watching the road on his stomach, driving & braking. Simple setup for what was a complex operation - moving Mother Goose.
